First, people ask "why?", and i have to bite my tongue so I don't say a response like "because i am not getting married in Port-Aux-Basque". No offense to P.A.B but there must be something in the water there that makes people think it is the center of the world and the best place on earth, while I do not agree. Since we live in Alberta, and travelling to Newfoundland is a pretty penny, it costs the exact amount to go to Ireland. So instead of getting my family to fly here, we decided that everyone should fly to Ireland. Another thing I hear too much is "Ireland looks just like Newfoundland"... These people are those who have been smoking those Newfoundland drugs wayyy too long.
Can you find something like that in Newfoundland? No. Didn't think so. The closest thing to a castle there is Signal Hill, and while it may look pretty, I don't want to get married in wind and fog with a bunch of tourists around.
Second question is usually when, and its 13 months away, plenty of time to give people notice, but apparently is "come home year" in P.A.B, and its suppose to be some big deal i think, even though everyone goes home every year, and A-1 liquidation still has t-shirts left over from 2 years ago. So now I am going to have to listen to people complain about it, first they were pissed because we didn't invite them, now they're pissed because of the date. Someone shoot me.
This is going to be beautiful, and those who want to be there will be, those I want there, will be. If some town, and fog, and a boat on land is more important, than so be it.
Yipes - the drama circling the Gillam girls shall never end - lol.
ReplyDeleteOh well sissy, I shall be there - with the provebial bells on.
I have found the perfect dress - and am looking forward to it.
Can't wait to help you plan and get an invite for my scrapbook!!!! *because I am nerdy that way**
