Today's Rockabilly Bride!

Man - with a new surge of people I know getting hitched - and of course the typical daydreaming of a chick approaching her 30's I have been poking around on the bridal sites a lil more than usual lately.
And I have never been more impressed.
Site like Offbeatbride.com are my wish come true!
Tux's with converse sneakers, Audrey Hepburn inspired dresses, crayon box inspired colors. It is amazing.
I have recently been introduced to the concept of crinoline overload and button bouquets! Weddings held at Dinner theatres and pictures being taken on old train platforms and rusty fire escape - all after my own heart.
No more - bride-must-wear-white groom-must-wear-tux and get married in a stuffy church and take stuffy garden pictures....anything is game!
Bright Orange Pearls and Aqua polkadot bridesmaids dresses....*drool*
This has revived my desire for a wedding (having been traditionally jaded for the majority of my adult life).
AND it is not just the clothes that has changed - wedding cakes have lil rubber ducks on top of them - or Beatles pictures on them stating "All you need is Love" - ain't it the truth!
Tattoo's and piercings are things to be embraced and complimented .... *sigh* I am in dreamland! (especially since if I ever get married one of my bridesmaids has a significant amount of ink that makes me envious).
No more mints with lil bits of Tool around them! and no more useless engraved key chains....
Girls - welcome to being able to think outside of the traditional box and embrace the individuality and bliss that can come from having YOUR perfect wedding - instead of the TRADITIONAL perfect wedding
*sigh*
